The local area

Burgess Hill has a wonderful setting in southern England, not far from London or the south coast, and on the edge of the South Downs National Park. The arrival of the railways in the 1840s was important for the town, and led to plenty of growth in the area. There’s a good amount of relatively new housing in the area, while the town itself has seen lots of redevelopment, giving it all the modern amenities you need.

Rail services to London Victoria station take less than an hour, making Burgess Hill a viable option for commuters to the capital. If you want to go to Brighton, it’s just over ten minutes by train, perfect for spending some time on the coast or visiting the town’s vibrant bars and restaurants. The A23 is a short distance to the west of Burgess Hill, which connects the town to the M23 and subsequently M25 motorways, as well as Gatwick Airport which is less than half an hour away by car, and 20 minutes by train. It’s fairly easy to get to other local towns like Haywards Heath, Horsham and Crawley.

There are some highly rated schools in the local area which are ideal for families with children. Birchwood Grove and London Meed are among the best primary schools, while secondary options include St. Paul’s Catholic College, Oakmeeds Community College and Burgess Hill School for Girls on Keymer Road.
