Legend has it that the Irish Saint Ia arrived in Cornwall in the fifth century, and the town of St Ives has been named after her. For families with kids, there are two schools for younger children in the town to choose between, St Ives Junior School and St Uny CofE. At secondary level, St Ives School is the only local option, a mixed school which looks after children aged between 11 and 16.
