Conveyancing in Shropshire
Buying a house in Shropshire
Forming part of England’s border with Wales, Shropshire is a county in the West Midlands. With a population of approximately half a million, the county is mainly quite rural and has a range of great properties. At My Home Move Conveyancing we’ve been developing our knowledge of markets like Shropshire’s since 2001, allowing us to bring a market-leading conveyancing service to our clients in the area.
If you’re looking to buy or sell property in Shropshire, you’ll need to instruct property lawyers to complete the legal work on your behalf.
As your Shropshire conveyancer, My Home Move Conveyancing can bring you our award winning customer service, innovative use of technology and a market-leading attitude to what we do.
Each of our clients is assigned a dedicated conveyancer, who’ll look after your case from start to finish, providing you with a consistent point of contact and regular updates on your progress. At My Home Move Conveyancing we get things right first time, and give you online access to your account so you can check up on things at a time that’s convenient for you. We’re proud to supply our conveyancing in Shropshire to customers across the county, whether you’re looking for a house in county town Shrewsbury, a place with great access to the Shropshire Hills or something in the north in a spot like Whitchurch or Market Drayton.
Local statistics
The average house price in Shropshire is £204,818. During the past year most sales in the county involved detached properties, which went for an average of £284,791. Semi-detached houses fetched £172,031 and terraces sold for £155,325.
The local area
With plenty of history across the county, which has a background as an Iron Age Celtic kingdom, there’s lots to explore across Shropshire. From Ludlow Castle to the Ironbridge Gorge and the Shropshire Hills, there are many sights and attractions to keep you busy in the local area. Most of Shropshire’s towns are relatively compact, with Telford and Shrewsbury the only real large towns in the county, although Ludlow comes close, while Wellington is a bit smaller again.
As it’s mainly rural, the only motorway in Shropshire is the M54 which passes through part of the east of the county, connecting Telford to the M6 just north of Birmingham. In the past rivers and waterways including the River Severn were used for transport, but nowadays there are plenty of rail links across the county, as well as a network of A roads including the A49. If you’re going on holiday, airports in places like Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool may be convenient options to get to depending on which part of Shropshire you’re in.
There are plenty of good schools across the county, whether you need a primary or secondary school for your children. Shropshire Council operates an entirely comprehensive education system, although there are selective schools for girls and boys in Newport which isn’t far north of Telford. Independent schools include Shrewsbury School, which was attended by Charles Shrewsbury College and Ludlow College are among the options for further education, while the University of Wolverhampton has a campus in Telford if you’re looking for higher education facilities.
