The local area

Set in the heart of the Vale of Evesham, Pershore has a historic abbey which was founded in the year 689. Renowned for its attractive Georgian architecture, the town has a range of listed buildings, as well as some other interesting landmarks such as Pershore Old Bridge. If you like to spend time outdoors, Tyddesley Wood offers 185 acres of ancient woodland which dates back to the Ice Age, while Pershore is also famous for its locally-grown pears and plums.

The town’s train station is just over a mile out of the centre towards Pinvin, and is served by the Cotswold Line. It’s possible to take a direct service all the way to London Paddington station, which takes around two hours, while it’s just over ten minutes to Worcester to the northwest. It’s not far to the A44 from Pershore, while the nearest motorway junctions are junction 7 of the M5 and junction 1 of the M50.

Pershore has a three-tiered education system, although the highly rated Holy Redeemer Catholic Primary stands outside this and offers education to children aged between four and 11. Abbey Park First School, Abbey Park Middle School and St Nicholas’ CofE Middle School are among the options for younger children, while Pershore High School provides secondary education and has a sixth form attached.
