Lying around six miles north of the River Mersey, St Helens is found in the historic county of Lancashire, however nowadays is classed as being in Merseyside. St Helens’ strong location means that there are excellent transport links in the area, with the M62 running to the south of town, M58 to the north, M6 to the east and M57 to the west. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is just over 10 miles away, while Manchester Airport is around 25 miles from St Helens. It’s also fairly easy to get to local towns such as Widnes, Kirkby and Runcorn.
