Essential info

The local authority responsible for properties is London Borough of Merton Council

The local area

There’s no doubt that the most famous element of Wimbledon’s heritage is the Wimbledon championship, one of world tennis’ four Grand Slam events which has been hosted by the All England Club since 1877. Wimbledon is also a hugely popular place to live, with one of the capital’s largest commons, plenty of amenities, and great access to central London.

The area has a number of overground railway stations, as well as a stop on the London Underground’s District line, Wimbledon Park. This opens up all areas of the English capital to quick and easy access from Wimbledon. When it’s time to go on holiday, Heathrow Airport is around 12 miles away by car, but you’ll have to head into Central London to head back out if you want to use public transport to get there.

If you have children, there are some excellent schools in the local area to choose between, including Wimbledon Chase Primary, Dundonald Primary and Bishop Gilpin CofE. At secondary level, Wimbledon College, Ursuline High School and Ricards Lodge High School are among the options, while London’s wide range of universities is on the doorstep if you’re looking for higher education.
